The Bombardier site in Aachen has played a major part in the development and the manufacture of rolling stock since being founded in 1838. A considerable number of new designs and patents originated here – especially for double-deck coaches, freight wagons and bogies. The product portfolio of the site ranges from innovative freight wagons up to state-of-the-art multiple units. Furthermore, since 1968, the site has been the most important supplier of rolling stock for the Dutch Railways, Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS).
